What exactly is AVCon? AVCon is a festival includes events, attractions and panels that incorporate Anime & Video Games and their related niches. It's a family friendly event, where people all ages are welcome. You'll find something for everyone at AVCon!
Anime is animation created in the traditional Japanese style as seen in animated shows, such as Astro Boy and Spirited Away. While, our Video Games section covers home consoles, such as the Nintendo Wii, Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3, as well as PC gaming. Also, including handheld systems, such as the Nintendo DS and PlayStation Portable range (Bring yours along!).
This year we have claimed even more of the Adelaide Convention Centre, now incorporating a larger food & eating area. You’ll find this extra space has allowed us to optimise our space, giving us more places to fit attractions you know and love.
What will you see at AVCon this year? Video Game tournaments, Free play Gaming, Cosplay, Anime screenings, Japanese-inspired art, displays and workshops, panel presentations by special guests and Video Games industry experts.
As with every year, you’ll be able to participate in Cosplay competitions, rock out on stage with Rock Band, and scope out (or participate alongside) the latest talent with national indie game developers in the Indie Games Room.
